I also took it to RoboGames 2009 where it won "Best of Show" in the Open category. As at MakerFaire, it was very popular with children -- but very few adults actually sat down and played a game.

The big black box is the robot arm controller. The small silver box is the PC running the software. The box in the upper left controls the hand.

Schematics. This circuit opens and closes the electric hand. It uses a PIC chip and a great motor controller IC that provides current feedback. In that way I can sense when the hand closes on a piece, and stop the motor.
